Microsoft Current Account Clients

  1. What has happened to my current Microsoft Tag Account?

    Answer: As of September 30, 2015 Microsoft's official transition of the service to Scanbuy has completed.  If you have not yet contacted Scanbuy to migrate your account please contact us at mstag@scanbuy.com or call us at 212-278-0178x400. 

  2. Why should I consider opening a new account with ScanLife now?

    Answer: The ScanLife platform is the only platform available to migrate your existing Microsoft Tag account.  ScanLife offers more advanced features, better support, more frequent innovation, and much more.  

  3. Will I continue to have access to the analytics and history of my Tags and codes?

    Answer:  If you had chosen to migrate your Microsoft Tag content you will continue to have access to all of your historical data via of the ScanLife Platform.  

  4. Will there be changes in costs?

    Answer:  A free plan is available as an option via ScanLife.  There may be costs if you choose more advanced feature options or services.  

  5. Must I open a ScanLife account?

    Answer: If you want access to your existing Microsoft Tag service, yes you will need to open a ScanLife account.  

  6. Can I move all of my Microsoft Tag account data and content over to ScanLife?

    Answer:  If you have not yet contacted Scanbuy to migrate your Microsoft Tag account please contact us at mstag@scanbuy.com or call us at 212-278-0178x400. 

  7. I don’t have a Microsoft Tag or ScanLife account, but am interested in creating QR Codes for my marketing project.  How do I open an Account?

  1. Currently we use the Microsoft API, will Scanbuy continue to support my integration?

    Answer: No, they will have to use the Scanbuy API.  Please send an email to apitag@scanbuy.com for support and information on ScanLife API services.

  2. I’m interested in the Microsoft Tag API or Tag Reader SDK for a project.  Will they be available?

    Answer:  No. The Microsoft Tag API/SDK is no longer available.  Instead the ScanLife API/SDK will be made available.  Please send an email to apitag@scanbuy.com to discuss ScanLife API availability.  

  3. Will new customers be able to access the Microsoft Tag API?

    Answer: No. The Microsoft Tag API/SDK is no longer available.  Instead, the ScanLife API/SDK is available and will be able to scan and programmatically create the Microsoft Tag format.  Please send an email to apitag@scanbuy.com to discuss ScanLife API availability.  

  4. If I need a QR Code or Tag creation/analytics API, who do I speak to about our project?

  1. Will the Microsoft Tag mobile app continue to be supported?

    Answer: Yes.  The Microsoft Tag mobile app will continue to be offered in app stores for the time being.  We highly recommend downloading the ScanLife mobile app, which also reads Microsoft Tags.   

  2. How will clients read my Microsoft Tag codes?

    Answer:  We recommend using the ScanLife Mobile app.
