This is completely dependent on which country you are in. The ScanLife platform can technically create EZcodes and Datamatrix codes, however most people can only create EZcodes at this time. The EZcode is currently a better solution for most camera phones that can’t recognize the complexities of other codes. For other benefits, click here.
Yes. Without getting all technical on you, there’s more than enough to go around. Then again, if you want to get technical, an EZcode has a payload of 19 hexadecimals (76 bits). This means that the overall sum of unique numbers that can be generated is 1619 or 75 sextillion. That’s a lot of zeros!
No. All web-based content is hosted by the code publisher. Our technology gives you tools to automatically send information using a number of actions on the phone. What you actually send is completely under your control.
Yes, there are ‘web services’ that allow you to receive the scan data so that you can send back customized content for that user. For example, if someone has scanned your code before, you could send them different content.
We ask that all commercial-related codes be created under a Business Account. This account will give you many more options and there’s no commitment when you sign up.

A Personal account is free and it will allow you to create 3 codes (Web & Contact codes only). A Business account can be created with no commitment and you will be charged based on the number of scans generated. For pricing options, please begin the registration process here.
