6 Million.  That’s how many times a month people see something they like and open a ScanLife app to get more information.  Many times that content is truly awesome – it saves you money, it entertains, it informs.  

A few months ago we announced that our ScanLife app was beginning a major transformation to make it easier for you to discover this information. Now that journey continues as ScanLife for Android and iOS gives our millions of users an additional layer of information that is provided by YOU – the ScanLife community – to help you find and share the very best content from the world of barcode scanning.

Now when you scan something, whether it be a QR Code on an ad or a barcode from a product, you will see two new ways to take further action – like favorites and share.

The all new ScanLife 4.3 is now available for iOS which gives you over 20 themes to make your barcode scanner cooler, prettier, and more personalized than ever.  We added everything you would want to fit your style.

Dreaming of the beach?  We have a cool summer theme – palm trees included.  If you’re more of a sports nut we have an entire pack dedicated to baseball, basketball, american and non-american football, and more.  Or if you are just a nature lover, we have some nice soothing images of daisies and stylized butterflies!

Some of the theme packs will run you 99 cents for a set of 5 or 6 which you can buy with your iTunes account.  But, we have plenty of new free themes as well including one of our faves called Vibration (featured below in blue).

We’re thrilled about the release of our new ScanLife 4.2 app for iPhone, which helps you connect with others in a whole new way.

What’s New?

With ScanLife 4.2, you now have the ability to create your personal contact code, or as we like to call it – “QRcard”. Just click “My QRcard” in the “More” tab, enter your contact details and voila! Your very own QRcard is ready to be scanned and shared with anyone.

Plus whenever there’s  a change in your contact info, you can adjust it by editing your QRcard details at anytime! Just remember you will receive a new code.

You can also easily sign up for a free ScanLife account right from the app to access your codes online at any time. Simply click the banner below your QRcard to get more codes and join thousands of other ScanLife platform users.

Additional Features to ScanLife 4.2:

• Web Code Prompt: After scanning a web code, view the URL before launching the website so you know what your linking to.
• Call Code Confirmation: When scanning a call code, you can now verify the number before making a call.
• New Product Prices: For all you shoppers out there, extra pricing comparisons have been added when scanning UPC barcodes on products.

ScanLife 4.0, includes a couple cool new features to make barcode scanning a bit more fun for the holiday season.  One feature allows users to customize the scanner screen by selecting from themes like “Top Gun” and “Holiday Cheer”.  Just go to the Settings screen in the app to change it any time!
